MANDY HAGUE

ABOUT MANDY

Artist Statement

Always driven by an interest in the natural world my work stems from close observations of creatures I have encountered or objects collected. Often these works present as dark or even disturbing as I convey my melancholic perceptions of the decline of our natural surroundings through deforestation, pollution, overpopulation and global warming. The wondrous and beautiful are often juxtaposed with an element of death and decay.  Other times they are simply a celebration of the myriad of beautiful or bizarre examples of our natural world.
